Episode 69 - Day 25 of 30 Days To More Sales - The Customer You Paid to Reach - And Then Lost
Oct 05, 2026
You paid for the click.
But did that customer ever make it to the order?
I’ve seen this happen in our own businesses more than once.
A paid campaign is running.
People are clicking.
The ad account looks busy.
Money is leaving exactly on schedule.
But the orders aren’t keeping up.
And the first reaction is usually:
We need a better ad.
Maybe we need a new picture.
A different headline.
A new audience.
More budget.
Turn it off.
Turn it back on.
Stare at it harder.
We’ve had those conversations.
Then we finally opened the ad report, the store report, and the order report together and followed what happened after the click.
The clicks weren’t the problem.
We had been watching the front door without paying enough attention to what happened after the customer came inside.
That’s what we’re talking about in Day 25 of 30 Days to More Sales.
Because paying for a click is not the same thing as buying a customer.
And before you spend more money getting people into the same path, you need to know where the people you already paid for are leaving.
IN THIS EPISODE, YOU’LL HEAR:
- Why an ad can be doing its job even when sales are disappointing
- What changed when we stopped looking only at the ad report
- Why more traffic can make an existing sales leak more expensive
- How to tell whether the problem is happening before or after the click
- Why I want you looking at one product and one paid source at a time
- How the customer path can look different on Amazon, Shopify, Walmart.com, TikTok Shop, Etsy, and wholesale
- Why changing everything at once makes it harder to know what actually helped
- How to find the part of the buying path that deserves your attention first
YOUR ONE CLEAR NEXT STEP
Choose one product you’re currently paying to promote.
Then ask yourself:
Do I actually know what happens after someone clicks?
Not what you think happens.
Not what the ad dashboard makes you assume.
Do you know where customers are continuing forward and where they’re disappearing?
That’s the question I want you to answer before you increase the budget, rewrite the ad, or send more people into the same path.

Day 26: Why Customers Leave a Full Cart Behind
Tomorrow, we’re looking at a very different customer.
She clicked.
She looked at the product.
She wanted it enough to put it in her cart.
And then she left.
That customer is giving you a completely different clue than the person who never clicked at all.
We’re going to talk about what may be happening between the cart and the completed order.
