From Farm Girl to Omni-Channel Product-Based Business Growth Strategist

I came home one day and there she was—my 14-year-old daughter driving a tractor.

We lived on a farm, and my husband believed our four girls should learn the value of hard work and the dollar. Me? I agreed on the lesson… just not the tractor part.

What I didn’t know then was that moment would quietly shape everything that came next.

Falling in Love with Retail (and Never Looking Back)

In 1995, just one year later, I opened my first retail store, a bath and body shop, in our local mall. It was meant to be a safe place for my daughters to work and learn. What I didn’t expect was to fall completely in love with retail.

One store became three.
Three stores became wholesale.
Wholesale became full-scale manufacturing.

At our peak, we employed over 260 people and were producing candles for some of the largest retailers in the world. I designed, manufactured, and sold products into Kohl’s, Lowe’s, Walgreens, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Bed Bath & Beyond, and more—both domestically and internationally. At one point, our products were in over 10,000 retail doors across the U.S.

We even created a private-label candle line for Kim Kardashian.

I traveled to China more than 30 times, working directly with factories and learning about supply chains, quality control, pricing, logistics, and what it really takes to serve big-box retailers from the inside out.

Success Was Never Luck It Was Strategy

Nothing about that growth was accidental.

We built systems to track buying trends before they became trends.
We used natural ingredients long before it was “cool.”
We designed products to stop buyers in their tracks and consumers in their tracks in the aisle.

Signature candle toppings, simple, distinctive, and memorable, set us apart. I’ve always said:

Anyone can get an order. The real question is: can you get the reorder?

Our products didn’t just launch; they stayed on shelves for over a decade because they were worth talking about.

Within ten years, the company was doing over $20 million in annual sales.

The Part No One Talks About

But growth at that level comes at a cost.

By 2009, I was home just 12 weekends the entire year.
The rest of my life was airplanes, hotel rooms, trade shows, and factories overseas. I started another business in 2007, which meant I was burning the candle at both ends (yes, pun fully intended).

Success without systems leads to burnout.
Growth without structure eventually breaks something: your health, your family, or your joy.

I learned that lesson the hard way, so you don’t have to.

Exactly 16 years to the day after opening my first store, I sold the business.

Why I Mentor Product-Based Business Owners Now

Most product-based businesses never reach $1 million in revenue.
Most founders don’t fail because their product is bad; they fail because they’re trying to grow without a strategy, systems, or perspective.

I’ve built, scaled, and exited businesses.
I’ve sold DTC, wholesale, Amazon, Shopify, and retail.
I’ve managed manufacturing, inventory, cash flow, teams, marketing, and margins at real scale.

Today, I help established product-based business owners stop guessing and start scaling omni-channel the right way.

That means:

Designing product lines that scale profitably

Building systems that support Amazon, Shopify, retail, and wholesale together

Driving traffic through paid ads and organic strategies

Understanding your numbers so growth doesn’t wreck your cash flow

Preparing you not just to grow—but to sustain, optimize, and eventually exit if you choose

Most importantly, I help founders build businesses that support their life, not consume it.

You Don’t Have to Do This Alone

I’ve learned through wins, losses, and more than a few expensive mistakes. I’ve built from $100 days to multi-million-dollar years, and I bring that experience into every client relationship.

If you’re serious about scaling your product-based business and want guidance from someone who’s been where you’re trying to go, I’d love to talk.
